One person killed near 1000 N CENTRAL AVE in Austin

A driver was killed after a Sunday early morning angle collision in Austin on April 20, 2025 at 2:07 AM.

The crash occurred near 1000 N CENTRAL AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding other traffic signs.

There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2014 Honda Accord was heading east. The police report described the driver, an unknown age person, as disregarding traffic controls/signals. They were totally ejected; they were killed.
• A 2007 Chevrolet Impala was heading south. The driver, an unknown age male, was uninjured; he was totally ejected.
• A 2013 Chrysler Town & Country was heading north and was hit in the front. The driver, a 45-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt; he was uninjured.

Police were notified at 2:07 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 888th injurious crash reported in April 2025, and the 4,712th injurious crash reported in 2025. It was the 23rd fatal crash for 2025.
