One person killed, one person severely injured near 4200 N OAK PARK AVE in Dunning

A passenger was killed and another passenger was severely injured after a Saturday early morning collision with a fixed object in Dunning on February 8, 2025 at 2:16 AM.

The crash occurred near 4200 N OAK PARK AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to reckless, careless, or aggressive driving; and, secondarily, to improper overtaking or passing.

A 2008 Infiniti G35 was heading north while passing another vehicle. The police report described the driver, a 29-year-old man, as going too fast for conditions. His airbag deployed from the side and he was trapped; he was uninjured. A 29-year-old male passenger was killed; his airbag deployed. A 37-year-old female passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries; her airbag deployed.

Police were notified at 2:16 AM. This was the 281st injurious crash reported in February 2025, and the 1,565th injurious crash reported in 2025. It was the 8th fatal crash for 2025.
