One person killed near 1201 N CICERO AVE in Austin

A driver was killed after a Monday morning turning collision in Austin on August 29, 2022 at 7:45 AM.

The crash occurred near 1201 N CICERO AVE, at a center turn lane. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way.

• A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was heading west and was hit in the under carriage. The driver, a 25-year-old man, was uninjured; his airbag did not deploy.

Police were notified at 7:46 AM and made a desk report. This was the 1,262nd injurious crash reported in August 2022, and the 10,302nd injurious crash reported in 2022. It was the 87th fatal crash for 2022.
