One person killed near 2145 N ASHLAND AVE in Bucktown

A driver was killed after a Monday early morning collision with a fixed object in Bucktown on May 3, 2021 at 1:58 AM.

The crash occurred near 2145 N ASHLAND AVE, on a road divided by a median barrier. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. • A 2020 Hino was heading south while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 43-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he was uninjured.

Police were notified at 1:58 AM. This was the 137th injurious crash reported in May 2021, and the 4,354th injurious crash reported in 2021. It was the 28th fatal crash for 2021.
