One person killed near 2145 N ASHLAND AVE in Bucktown

A driver was killed after a Monday early morning collision with a fixed object in Bucktown on May 3, 2021 at 1:58 AM.

The crash occurred near 2145 N ASHLAND AVE, on a road divided by a median barrier. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was rainy, and the roadway was wet. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to traveling the wrong way or on the wrong side.

  • A 2020 Hino was heading south while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 43-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he was uninjured.
