Two people killed near 8708 S SAGINAW AVE in South Chicago

A driver and a passenger were killed after a Monday morning collision with a parked motor vehicle in South Chicago on November 15, 2021 at 11:36 AM.

The crash occurred near 8708 S SAGINAW AVE, on a one-way road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

A 2012 Infiniti FX35 was heading south. The driver, an unknown age male, was wearing a seat belt; he was killed. An unknown age male passenger was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he was killed. Two other passengers were uninjured.

There were two other vehicles involved but not being driven:

• A 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, hit in the front-left-corner.
• A 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, hit in the rear.

Police were notified at 11:52 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 650th injurious crash reported in November 2021, and the 14,431st injurious crash reported in 2021. It was the 132nd fatal crash for 2021.
