One person killed near 8501 S CICERO AVE in Ashburn

A driver was killed after a Sunday afternoon turning collision in Ashburn on April 19, 2020 at 3:30 PM.

The crash occurred near 8501 S CICERO AVE, on a divided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2015 Ford F150 was heading south while turning left. The police report described the driver, a 56-year-old man, as failing to yield. He was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed from the side; he was uninjured.
  • A 2014 Harley-Davidson was heading north while changing lanes and was hit in the front. The driver, a 45-year-old man, was not wearing a helmet and was totally ejected; he was killed.
