One person killed, one person severely injured, and two other people injured near 8001 S HALSTED ST in Auburn Gresham

A passenger was killed and another passenger was severely injured after a Wednesday afternoon hit-and-run angle collision in Auburn Gresham on September 2, 2020 at 12:27 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 8001 S HALSTED ST, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. There was a stop sign. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals.

There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2005 Mercedes-Benz 500 Series was heading east. The police report described the driver, an unknown age male, as attempting to evade police. The police report did not have additional details about the driver, or his two passengers.
  • A 2006 Toyota Corolla was heading north and was hit in the front. The driver, a 57-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the front; she reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
  • A 1997 Honda Accord was heading west while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 43-year-old man, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the front. A 10-year-old female passenger was killed. An unknown age male passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.

Police were notified at 12:28 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 62nd injurious crash reported in September 2020, and the 9,462nd injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 87th fatal crash for 2020.
