Two people killed, and two other people injured near 600 E MORGAN DR in Washington Park

A driver and a passenger were killed after a Monday evening sideswipe same direction collision in Washington Park on March 21, 2022 at 7:50 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 600 E MORGAN DR, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dusk, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to improper overtaking or passing.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading east while passing another vehicle. The police report described the driver, an 18-year-old man, as attempting to pass improperly. He was trapped; he was killed. A 20-year-old female passenger was killed. Two of his passengers reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
  • A 2012 Chrysler 200 was heading east and was hit in the side-left. The driver, an unknown age male, was wearing a seat belt; he was uninjured.

Police were notified at 7:50 PM. This was the 783rd injurious crash reported in March 2022, and the 2,834th injurious crash reported in 2022. It was the 29th fatal crash for 2022.
