One person killed, and one other person injured near 4400 N CUMBERLAND AVE in O'Hare

A driver was killed after a Friday early morning angle collision in O'Hare on July 10, 2026 at 3:30 AM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 4400 N CUMBERLAND AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding other traffic signs; and, secondarily, to disregarding traffic signals.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2020 Suzuki Motorcycle was heading south. The police report described the driver, a 33-year-old man, as disregarding traffic controls/signals. He was wearing a DOT-compliant motorcycle helmet and he was totally ejected; he was killed.
  • A 2012 Toyota Prius was heading east and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 31-year-old man, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the front.

Police were notified at 3:31 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 524th injurious crash reported in July 2026, and the 9,382nd injurious crash reported in 2026. It was the 46th fatal crash for 2026.
