One person killed, one person severely injured near 1158 N DAMEN AVE in Ukrainian Village
A driver was killed and another driver was severely injured after a Wednesday night turning collision in Ukrainian Village on April 20, 2022 at 9:30 PM.
The crash occurred near 1158 N DAMEN AVE, on a divided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark, the weather was rainy, and the roadway was wet. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash; and, secondarily, to following too closely.

- A Volkswagen was heading north while turning left and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 31-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed; she was killed.
Police were notified at 9:30 PM. This was the 766th injurious crash reported in April 2022, and the 3,992nd injurious crash reported in 2022. It was the 39th fatal crash for 2022.
