One person killed, one person severely injured near 800 S WESTERN AVE in Little Italy, Uic

A passenger was killed and a driver was severely injured after a Wednesday early morning collision with a parked motor vehicle in Little Italy, Uic on November 24, 2021 at 1:48 AM.

The crash occurred near 800 S WESTERN AVE, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

A 2003 Buick Regal was heading south. The driver, a 36-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed from the front; he reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries. An unknown age female passenger was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the front; she was killed.

There was one other vehicle involved but not being driven: A 2004 Nissan Sentra, hit in the rear.
