One pedestrian killed, and four other people injured near 757 N KEDZIE AVE in Humboldt Park

A pedestrian was killed after a Thursday evening hit-and-run collision in Humboldt Park on September 16, 2021 at 8:04 PM. 4 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 757 N KEDZIE AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. His airbag deployed from the front; he reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. A 19-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the front. A 23-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the front. A 20-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the front.
  • A 1999 Buick Regal was heading north while changing lanes and was hit in the front. The driver, an 18-year-old man, was uninjured; his airbag deployed from the front.

The police report described the pedestrian, an unknown age female, as crossing at a controlled point that was not an intersection; she was killed.

Police were notified at 8:06 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 811th injurious crash reported in September 2021, and the 11,447th injurious crash reported in 2021. It was the 103rd fatal crash for 2021.
