One person killed, and five other people injured near 4300 S WESTERN BLVD in Brighton Park

A 15-year-old female passenger was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the side; she reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. A 14-year-old female passenger was wearing a seat belt and her airbag did not deploy; she reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. A 12-year-old female passenger was wearing a seat belt and her airbag did not deploy; she reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
  • A 2001 Ford Expedition was heading north and was hit in the front. The driver, a 32-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the front; she reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. A 10-year-old male passenger was wearing a seat belt; he reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. Two other passengers were uninjured.

Police were notified at 10:25 AM. This was the 669th injurious crash reported in October 2018, and the 13,127th injurious crash reported in 2018. It was the 88th fatal crash for 2018.
