A pedestrian was killed after a Sunday afternoon collision in South Deering on June 30, 2019 at 12:00 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 9859 S VAN VLISSINGEN RD, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. The weather was clear. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to reckless, careless, or aggressive driving; and, secondarily, to failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

A 2016 Jeep Cherokee was heading north. The police report described the driver, a 30-year-old man, as attempting to evade police. The police report did not have additional details about the driver. A 32-year-old female passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; her airbag deployed from the front. A 48-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the side.

A 67-year-old man (pedestrian) was killed.
