One person killed, and two other people injured near 1199 S KILBOURN AVE in North Lawndale

A driver was killed after a Friday afternoon angle collision in North Lawndale on July 23, 2021 at 12:55 PM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 1199 S KILBOURN AVE, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a stop sign. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding a stop sign.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2007 Nissan was heading north. The driver, a 26-year-old man, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed. His passenger reportedly suffered unspecified injuries.
  • A 2018 Lexus was heading east and was hit in the total (all areas). The driver, an unknown age female, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed; she was killed.
