One person killed near 8102 W BELMONT AVE in Dunning

A driver was killed after a Sunday early morning sideswipe same direction collision in Dunning on July 6, 2025 at 1:07 AM.

The crash occurred near 8102 W BELMONT AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to improper overtaking or passing.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2013 Honda Pilot was heading west while passing another vehicle. The police report described the driver, a 37-year-old woman, as attempting to pass improperly. Her airbag deployed; she was killed.
• A 2020 Jeep Cherokee was heading west and was hit in the side-right. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was uninjured.

There was one other vehicle involved but not being driven: A 2022 Dart, KW, hit in the rear.

Police were notified at 1:08 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 284th injurious crash reported in July 2025, and the 8,802nd injurious crash reported in 2025. It was the 40th fatal crash for 2025.
