One person killed, two people severely injured, and one other person injured near 11800 S HALSTED ST in West Pullman

A driver was killed; and another driver and a passenger were severely injured after a Wednesday night angle collision in West Pullman on July 8, 2020 at 10:29 PM.

The crash occurred near 11800 S HALSTED ST, on a road divided by a median barrier. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2018 Ford Explorer operated by police was heading south. The driver, an unknown age male, reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries. An unknown age passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries. One of his passengers reportedly suffered unspecified injuries.
• A Coleman was heading west and was hit in the rear. The driver, a 33-year-old man, was not wearing a helmet and was totally ejected; he was killed.

Police were notified at 10:29 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 417th injurious crash reported in July 2020, and the 6,739th injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 55th fatal crash for 2020.
