One person killed near 2801 W 26TH ST in Little Village

A driver was killed after a Thursday night angle collision in Little Village on April 17, 2025 at 10:34 PM.

The crash occurred near 2801 W 26TH ST, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2008 Toyota Highlander was heading south. The police report described the driver, a 58-year-old woman, as disregarding traffic controls/signals. She was wearing a seat belt; she was uninjured.
  • A 2011 Jeep Compass was heading east and was hit in the front. The driver, a 56-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the front; she was killed.
