One person killed, and one other person injured near 6080 N CALDWELL AVE in Sauganash,Forest Glen
A driver was killed after a Wednesday night turning collision in Sauganash,Forest Glen on April 17, 2019 at 9:35 PM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
The crash occurred near 6080 N CALDWELL AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way.
There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

- A 2003 Honda was heading east. The police report described the driver, a 24-year-old man, as going too fast for conditions. He was wearing a DOT-compliant motorcycle helmet and he was totally ejected; he was killed.
- A 2015 Chrysler Town & Country was heading west while slowing or stopping in traffic. The driver, a 42-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag did not deploy; she was uninjured. One other passenger was uninjured.
Police were notified at 9:35 PM. This was the 690th injurious crash reported in April 2019, and the 4,053rd injurious crash reported in 2019. It was the 25th fatal crash for 2019.
