One cyclist severely injured near 400 S DAMEN AVE in United Center

A cyclist was severely injured after a Tuesday afternoon hit-and-run collision in United Center on October 28, 2025 at 4:35 PM.

The crash occurred near 400 S DAMEN AVE, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals; and, secondarily, to failing to yield right of way.

A 49-year-old man (cyclist) was wearing a helmet and he was totally ejected. The police report described him as crossing against the signal and disregarding traffic controls/signals; he reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.
