One person killed near 5500 N WESTERN AVE in Lincoln Square

A driver was killed after a Sunday early morning collision in Lincoln Square on November 16, 2025 at 3:45 AM.

The crash occurred near 5500 N WESTERN AVE, on a road divided by a median barrier. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to a driver's physical condition; and, secondarily, to inadequate driving skill, knowledge, or experience.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2015 Harley-Davidson was heading south. The driver, a 51-year-old man, was not wearing a helmet and was totally ejected; he was killed.
• A Harley-Davidson was heading south and was hit in the total (all areas). The police report described the driver, a 34-year-old man, as following too closely. He was not wearing a helmet; he was uninjured.

There were five other vehicles involved but not being driven:

• A 2014 Acura RLX, hit in the side-left-rear.
• A 2021 Toyota Camry, hit in the rear.
• A 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, hit in the side-left.
• A 2010 KIA Rio, hit in the side-left.
• A 2014 Subaru Forester.

Police were notified at 3:45 AM. This was the 774th injurious crash reported in November 2025, and the 16,080th injurious crash reported in 2025. It was the 73rd fatal crash for 2025.
