One person killed near 4731 S LOOMIS BLVD in New City
A driver was killed after a Monday evening collision with a parked motor vehicle in New City on November 27, 2023 at 7:47 PM.
The crash occurred near 4731 S LOOMIS BLVD, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was wet. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash; and, secondarily, to a driver's physical condition.
A 1999 GMC Envoy was heading north. The police report described the driver, a 38-year-old man, as going too fast for conditions. His airbag did not deploy; he was killed. One other passenger was uninjured.
