One person killed, one person severely injured near 631 W 115TH ST in West Pullman
A driver was killed and another driver was severely injured after a Thursday early morning sideswipe same direction collision in West Pullman on July 2, 2020 at 2:36 AM.
The crash occurred near 631 W 115TH ST, on a divided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a stop sign. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to traveling the wrong way or on the wrong side.
There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:
- A 2007 Ford Edge was involved in the crash. The driver, a 27-year-old woman, was killed; her airbag deployed and she was trapped.
- A 2014 Honda Civic was heading west and was hit in the front. The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed; she reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.
There was one other vehicle involved but not being driven: A 2000 Chevrolet S10, hit in the front-left-corner.
Police were notified at 2:38 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 42nd injurious crash reported in July 2020, and the 6,364th injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 53rd fatal crash for 2020.
