One person killed, and two other people injured near 3803 W ROOSEVELT RD in North Lawndale
A driver was killed after a Friday evening angle collision in North Lawndale on June 16, 2023 at 5:42 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
The crash occurred near 3803 W ROOSEVELT RD, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals; and, secondarily, to reckless, careless, or aggressive driving.

- A 2016 Hyundai Sonata was heading west. The police report described the driver, a 15-year-old boy, as going too fast for conditions. His airbag did not deploy; he reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
- A 2007 Honda Accord was heading south and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 25-year-old man, was killed; his airbag deployed.
- A 2018 Jeep Wrangler was heading east while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the front-left-corner. The driver, a 28-year-old woman, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; her airbag deployed.
- A 2018 Toyota RAV4 was heading east while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the front-left-corner. The driver, a 37-year-old man, was uninjured. One other passenger was uninjured.
- A 2022 Volkswagen was heading north while turning right and was hit in the rear-right-corner. The driver, a 36-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Police were notified at 5:43 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 802nd injurious crash reported in June 2023, and the 7,000th injurious crash reported in 2023. It was the 65th fatal crash for 2023.
