One pedestrian killed, and three other people injured, including 1 pedestrian near 1200 S MORGAN ST in Little Italy, Uic

A pedestrian was killed after a Thursday morning hit-and-run angle collision in Little Italy, Uic on November 5, 2020 at 10:25 AM. 3 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 1200 S MORGAN ST, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan was heading north. The police report described the driver, a 32-year-old man, as disregarding traffic controls/signals. He was uninjured.
  • A 2017 Jeep Renegade was heading east and was hit in the front. The driver, a 69-year-old woman, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; her airbag deployed. A 79-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed.

A 26-year-old man (pedestrian) was killed.

A 27-year-old man (pedestrian) reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

Police were notified at 10:25 AM. This was the 149th injurious crash reported in November 2020, and the 12,263rd injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 116th fatal crash for 2020.
