Two people killed, and two other people injured near 6400 S COTTAGE GROVE AVE in Woodlawn

Two drivers were killed after a Saturday night angle collision in Woodlawn on May 25, 2024 at 10:50 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 6400 S COTTAGE GROVE AVE, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2010 Ford Explorer was involved in the crash. The driver, an unknown age male, was killed; he was totally ejected.
• A 2011 Volkswagen Jetta was involved in the crash. The driver, an unknown age female, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
• A 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was hit in the front. The driver, a 45-year-old woman, was killed; her airbag deployed from the front. Her passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
