One person killed, and one other person injured near 8346 S INGLESIDE AVE in Chatham

A driver was killed after a Friday night collision with a parked motor vehicle in Chatham on February 18, 2022 at 9:40 PM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 8346 S INGLESIDE AVE, on a one-way road. The posted speed limit was 25 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was snowy, and the roadway was snowy or slushy. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to a driver's physical condition.

A 2008 Pontiac was heading north. The police report described the driver, a 27-year-old man, as attempting to pass improperly. His airbag did not deploy; he was killed. An unknown age passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; their airbag did not deploy.

There were four other vehicles involved but not being driven:
