One person killed, one person severely injured near 3500 S LAKE SHORE DR SB in Oakland
A driver was killed and a passenger was severely injured after a Sunday evening collision with a fixed object in Oakland on May 16, 2021 at 7:30 PM.

He was not wearing a seat belt, his airbag deployed, and he was totally ejected; he was killed. A 40-year-old male passenger was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed; he reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.
Police were notified at 7:31 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 723rd injurious crash reported in May 2021, and the 4,940th injurious crash reported in 2021. It was the 35th fatal crash for 2021.
