A pedestrian was killed and another pedestrian was severely injured after a Saturday afternoon hit-and-run collision in Lake View on August 14, 2021 at 12:35 PM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 3558 N FREMONT ST, on a one-way road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a stop sign. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to reckless, careless, or aggressive driving; and, secondarily, to failing to yield right of way.

A 24-year-old woman (pedestrian) was in a crosswalk. The police report described her as crossing with the signal and failing to yield; she was killed.
