One person killed near 2300 W OGDEN AVE in Little Italy, Uic
A driver was killed after a Tuesday night rear end collision in Little Italy, Uic on November 19, 2019 at 9:14 PM.
The crash occurred near 2300 W OGDEN AVE, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a stop sign. It was dark and the weather was rainy. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to following too closely; and, secondarily, to disregarding traffic signals.
There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

- A 2013 Honda was heading northeast and was hit in the under carriage. The driver, a 50-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag did not deploy; she was uninjured.
- A 2005 Cadillac was heading northeast and was hit in the rear-left. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed from the front; he was uninjured.
Police were notified at 9:25 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 864th injurious crash reported in November 2019, and the 14,609th injurious crash reported in 2019. It was the 93rd fatal crash for 2019.
