One person killed near 3939 N WHIPPLE ST in Irving Park

A driver was killed after a Thursday early morning collision with a parked motor vehicle in Irving Park on February 8, 2024 at 3:35 AM.

The crash occurred near 3939 N WHIPPLE ST, on a one-way road. The posted speed limit was 25 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to reckless, careless, or aggressive driving.

A 2002 Ford Explorer was heading south. The driver, an unknown age male, was killed. One other passenger was uninjured.
