One person killed, two people severely injured near 13000 S EVANS AVE in Riverdale

A passenger was killed and two drivers were severely injured after a Sunday night turning collision in Riverdale on March 26, 2023 at 9:16 PM.

The crash occurred near 13000 S EVANS AVE, on a divided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2015 Maserati was heading west while turning left. The driver, a 40-year-old man, reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed.
  • A 2018 Nissan Rogue was heading east and was hit in the total (all areas). The driver, a 37-year-old man, reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed. An unknown age passenger was killed; their airbag deployed.

Police were notified at 9:17 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 993rd injurious crash reported in March 2023, and the 3,151st injurious crash reported in 2023. It was the 39th fatal crash for 2023.
