One person killed, and one other person injured near 1932 W PRATT BLVD in Rogers Park

A driver was killed after a Tuesday afternoon turning collision in Rogers Park on June 2, 2020 at 4:21 PM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 1932 W PRATT BLVD, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to a driver's physical condition.

There were four motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2014 Chevrolet Malibu was heading east while turning right. The driver, a 31-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he was killed.
• A 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was heading north and was hit in the rear. The driver, an unknown age male, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he was uninjured. An unknown age male passenger was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. Two other passengers were uninjured.
• A 2015 Mazda MAZDA3 was heading north and was hit in the rear. The driver, a 27-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag did not deploy; she was uninjured.
• A 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan was heading west and was hit in the rear-left-corner. The driver, a 37-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag did not deploy; she was uninjured. One other passenger was uninjured.

There was one other vehicle involved but not being driven: A 2016 Chevrolet Impala, hit in the rear-left-corner.

Police were notified at 4:21 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 56th injurious crash reported in June 2020, and the 5,098th injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 42nd fatal crash for 2020.
