One person killed near 5955 S PULASKI RD in West Lawn

A driver was killed after a Tuesday afternoon angle collision in West Lawn on April 26, 2022 at 2:18 PM.

The crash occurred near 5955 S PULASKI RD, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 1999 Honda Motorcycle was heading north. The driver, a 49-year-old man, was not wearing a helmet and was totally ejected; he was killed.
• A 1999 Honda Civic was heading west and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 38-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did not deploy; he was uninjured.

Police were notified at 2:54 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 1,030th injurious crash reported in April 2022, and the 4,256th injurious crash reported in 2022. It was the 41st fatal crash for 2022.
