One person killed near 11900 S EGGLESTON AVE in West Pullman

A driver was killed after a Sunday afternoon hit-and-run turning collision in West Pullman on November 17, 2024 at 3:14 PM.

The crash occurred near 11900 S EGGLESTON AVE, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a stop sign. The weather was overcast and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to a driver's physical condition.

There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 1999 Toyota Solara was heading southwest while turning right. The police report described the driver, an unknown age male, as failing to yield. He was killed. One other passenger was uninjured.
• A 2024 Chevrolet Blazer was heading west and was hit in the side-right-rear. The driver, a 61-year-old man, was uninjured; his airbag deployed from the front.
• A Chevrolet Trail Blazer was heading south while backing up and was hit in the rear. The police report did not have details about the male driver, or his two passengers.

There was one other vehicle involved but not being driven: A 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, hit in the front-left-corner.

Police were notified at 3:14 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 797th injurious crash reported in November 2024, and the 16,498th injurious crash reported in 2024. It was the 102nd fatal crash for 2024.
