One pedestrian killed, one pedestrian severely injured near 2616 S PULASKI RD in Little Village

A pedestrian was killed and another pedestrian was severely injured after a Thursday morning collision in Little Village on December 15, 2022 at 5:50 AM.

The crash occurred near 2616 S PULASKI RD, on a divided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was rainy, and the roadway was wet. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way; and, secondarily, to the weather.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2018 Ford Fusion was heading south while turning left. The police report described the driver, a 27-year-old man, as failing to yield. He was wearing a seat belt and his vision was reportedly obscured by water/ice on the windshield; he was uninjured.
