Two people killed near 7522 S MORGAN ST in Auburn Gresham

A driver and a passenger were killed after a Sunday early morning collision with a parked motor vehicle in Auburn Gresham on July 22, 2018 at 3:09 AM.

The crash occurred near 7522 S MORGAN ST, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 35 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was wet. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to exceeding the posted speed limit.

A 2007 Nissan Altima was heading north while skidding or losing control. The police report described the driver, a 33-year-old woman, as going too fast for conditions. She was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed; she was killed. A 31-year-old male passenger was killed; his airbag deployed.

There were three other vehicles involved but not being driven:

• A 2015 Ford Fusion, hit in the total (all areas).
• A 2006 Cadillac SRX, hit in the total (all areas).
• A 2006 Chevrolet Impala, hit in the front.

Police were notified at 3:15 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 1,100th injurious crash reported in July 2018, and the 9,042nd injurious crash reported in 2018. It was the 57th fatal crash for 2018.
