One cyclist killed near 727 W MADISON ST in Greektown

A cyclist was killed after a Thursday morning collision in Greektown on August 9, 2018 at 7:10 AM.

The crash occurred near 727 W MADISON ST, on a divided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way; and, secondarily, to distraction from inside the vehicle.

A 39-year-old woman (cyclist) was wearing a helmet. The police report described her as traveling with traffic; she was killed.
