One pedestrian killed near 600 S HOMAN AVE in Garfield Park

A pedestrian was killed after a Saturday early morning hit-and-run collision in Garfield Park on October 5, 2024 at 12:11 AM.

The crash occurred near 600 S HOMAN AVE, at a traffic route. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
