One pedestrian killed near 1556 E 88TH ST in Calumet Heights

A pedestrian was killed after a Sunday evening collision in Calumet Heights on November 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

The crash occurred near 1556 E 88TH ST, on a one-way road. The posted speed limit was 25 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to failing to yield right of way; and, secondarily, to failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

A 50-year-old woman (pedestrian) was killed.
