One person killed, and two other people injured near 2001 W 71ST ST in Englewood

A driver was killed after a Sunday night collision with a fixed object in Englewood on July 12, 2020 at 11:28 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

A 2003 Cadillac Deville was heading south. The police report described the driver, a 25-year-old man, as attempting to evade police. His airbag deployed from the front; he was killed. A 14-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed from the front. A 17-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag did not deploy. One other passenger was uninjured.

Police were notified at 11:30 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 600th injurious crash reported in July 2020, and the 6,922nd injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 60th fatal crash for 2020.
