One cyclist severely injured near 2600 N PULASKI RD in Logan Square
A cyclist was severely injured after a Monday night collision in Logan Square on June 5, 2023 at 11:33 PM.
The crash occurred near 2600 N PULASKI RD, at a four-way intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals.
A 2006 Scion TC was heading south and was hit in the front. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was uninjured. One other passenger was uninjured.
A 43-year-old man (cyclist) was not wearing a helmet. The police report described him as crossing against the signal and disregarding traffic controls/signals; he reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.
Police were notified at 11:35 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 256th injurious crash reported in June 2023, and the 6,454th injurious crash reported in 2023.
