One person killed, and three other people injured near 4242 S INDIANA AVE in Grand Boulevard

A driver was killed after a Wednesday night angle collision in Grand Boulevard on January 19, 2022 at 9:21 PM. 3 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 4242 S INDIANA AVE, at an intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals.

A 21-year-old female passenger was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed; she reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
• A 2015 Jeep Cherokee was heading west and was hit in the side-left. The driver, a 46-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed; he reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. A 41-year-old male passenger was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed; he reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

Police were notified at 9:21 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 637th injurious crash reported in January 2022, and the 637th injurious crash reported in 2022. It was the 7th fatal crash for 2022.
