One person killed, six people severely injured, and one other person injured near 4220 S PULASKI RD in Archer Heights

A passenger was killed; and five other passengers and a driver were severely injured after a Sunday early morning hit-and-run head on collision in Archer Heights on February 11, 2024 at 2:42 AM. One other person reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 4220 S PULASKI RD, at a t-intersection. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2024 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was involved in the crash. The driver, an unknown age male, reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed. An unknown age male passenger was killed. An unknown age male passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries. A 25-year-old female passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.
• A 2003 GMC Yukon was involved in the crash. The driver, a 37-year-old person, reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries; their airbag deployed. A 44-year-old male passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries; his airbag deployed. A 21-year-old female passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries; her airbag deployed. A 54-year-old female passenger reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries.

Police were notified at 2:43 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 426th injurious crash reported in February 2024, and the 1,574th injurious crash reported in 2024. It was the 8th fatal crash for 2024.
