One person killed near 1034 W 31ST ST in Bridgeport

A driver was killed after a Thursday afternoon head on collision in Bridgeport on September 3, 2020 at 2:20 PM.

The crash occurred near 1034 W 31ST ST, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to a driver's physical condition.

There were three motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2006 Suzuki was heading east. The driver, a 64-year-old woman, was killed; her airbag did not deploy.
• A 2009 Hyundai Accent was heading west while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the front-right-corner. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was uninjured.
• A 2007 Toyota Prius was heading west while slowing or stopping in traffic and was hit in the front. The driver, a 52-year-old man, was uninjured.

Police were notified at 2:30 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 122nd injurious crash reported in September 2020, and the 9,522nd injurious crash reported in 2020. It was the 90th fatal crash for 2020.
