Two people killed, one person severely injured near 10730 S VINCENNES AVE in Morgan Park

A driver and a passenger were killed; and another driver was severely injured after a Saturday early morning head on collision in Morgan Park on July 16, 2022 at 12:53 AM.

The crash occurred near 10730 S VINCENNES AVE, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. It was dark but with streetlights, the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2004 GMC Yukon was heading north. The driver, a 38-year-old man, was killed; he was totally ejected.
  • A 2005 Lexus GS300 was heading south and was hit in the front. The driver, a 33-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed from the front; he reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries. A 38-year-old female passenger was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the front; she was killed.

Police were notified at 1:00 AM and made a report on scene. This was the 708th injurious crash reported in July 2022, and the 8,229th injurious crash reported in 2022. It was the 69th fatal crash for 2022.
