One person killed near 5211 S ASHLAND AVE in New City

A driver was killed after a Sunday morning head on collision in New City on June 27, 2021 at 10:54 AM.

The crash occurred near 5211 S ASHLAND AVE, on a road divided by a median barrier. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry. The police report did not specify a cause for the crash.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

  • A 2018 Subaru was heading south. The driver, a 47-year-old man, was killed; his airbag deployed.
  • A 2012 Chevrolet Silverado was heading north and was hit in the rear-left-corner. The driver, a 31-year-old man, was uninjured; his airbag did not deploy. Four other passengers were uninjured.
