Three people killed, and two other people injured near 2255 W HARRISON ST in Little Italy, Uic

Three passengers were killed after a Sunday evening angle collision in Little Italy, Uic on June 23, 2019 at 6:05 PM. 2 other people reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred near 2255 W HARRISON ST, on an undivided road. The posted speed limit was 30 mph. There was a traffic light. The weather was rainy and the roadway was wet. The police report attributed the cause of the crash to disregarding traffic signals.

There were two motor vehicles involved in the crash:

• A 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was heading east. The police report described the driver, an unknown age person, as disregarding traffic controls/signals. They reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries. An unknown age passenger was killed. An unknown age passenger was killed. An unknown age passenger was killed. One of their passengers reportedly suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
• A 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander was heading south. The driver, a 31-year-old woman, was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed from the front; she was uninjured.

Police were notified at 6:06 PM and made a report on scene. This was the 1,121st injurious crash reported in June 2019, and the 7,232nd injurious crash reported in 2019. It was the 42nd fatal crash for 2019.
